Religion
The primary religion in Greece is Orthodox Christianity. There are several important events in a Greek Orthodox Christian's life, including baptism, which is the sacramental entrance into the Church. 97% of the Greek population are Orthodox Christians. In addition to parish and community life, the Orthodox faith also expresses itself through countless monasteries, many of which are over a thousand years old.
