Culture
Greek civilization and culture is made up of older civilizations like the Mesopotamian, the Middle East and Egypt. As a result of these influences, the Greeks took many elements from these various civilizations around them, adapting to the ones similar to their ways of life, while other elements moved them forward, such as the development of astronomy, sculpture and architecture. All of these things helped form their society, which always had the human at the center of it. These elements helped create Greek philosophy, democracy, arts and sciences. Greece is one of the few places in Europe where folk dance is still done day to day, and is used as an expression of everyday life. The Greeks still embrace the elements of society that their ancestors did 3,000 years ago, and links with the East are still very strong, and its effects are seen today in the Greek Orthodox religion, and modern Greek music.
